Bilous Gallery is pleased to present "Night Lake" a solo project by Ukrainian artist Nataliia Krykun at VOLTA Basel 2026.

"No matter how dark and long the night is, a bright morning always comes after it."

Drawing from her acclaimed "Night Lake in Ukraine" 2026 series, Krykun explores the profound relationship between memory, place, and belonging through a body of abstract paintings. The exhibition reflects on the meaning of home in times of uncertainty, displacement, and transformation, using water as both a physical element and a metaphorical space of remembrance.

Rather than offering fixed narratives or singular interpretations, Krykun's works invite viewers into a state of reflection. Their surfaces appear calm and minimal, yet beneath them lie layers of memory, distance, and unresolved emotions. Through subtle textures, depth, and atmospheric compositions, the artist creates contemplative spaces where personal experiences can emerge naturally.
